Early Orthodontics FAQs
If your question is not here, call us on +91 98402 03173 and we will answer it.
Is my child too young for braces?
Early orthodontics is usually not full braces. It uses simpler appliances to guide jaw growth while a child is still developing, which is only possible at certain ages.
When should orthodontic assessment happen?
An assessment around the age of seven is common, because the first permanent molars and incisors are usually through by then and problems become visible.
Will early treatment mean no braces later?
Sometimes it reduces or simplifies later treatment, but it does not always remove the need for braces. We will be straightforward with you about what it can and cannot achieve.
Are the appliances uncomfortable?
There is usually an adjustment period of a few days when an appliance is fitted or tightened. Most children settle quickly, and we show you how to manage it.
How long does early treatment take?
It varies a great deal depending on what is being corrected and how your child grows. We give you a realistic estimate after the assessment rather than a standard figure.
What happens if we wait?
Some problems become harder and more involved to correct once growth has finished. Others are best left alone. The point of an early assessment is to tell the two apart.
